Travis Nygard, Art Historian

Although art historians by definition examine the past, the reason that the discipline is fascinating to me is that it allows us to look at issues which are living in contemporary society.  Imagery can help us to understand, for example, how we grow and consume our food, how cultures interact, and how racial identity is constructed. In the spirit of the free exchange of ideas I have posted some of my writing here, and I have also assembled resources from the classes that I have taught.
